Magic
Melissa Russo is just 12 years old and already considered a rising young star in the world of Magic.
Performing for just one year now, everywhere she goes, she energizes her audience with her fast paced magic act that intertwines her passions... magic, dance, music and especially balloons! Audience members are amazed at her stage presence and ability to capture their attention from the moment she first dances on stage.
Her story is one of love at first sight. When Melissa was 11, she tagged along with her mother, a TV Producer, who was researching a story about a group of aspiring magicians who were not much older than herself.
Melissa was in awe as she watched the young magicians perform, especially a boy named Graham Fishman, who kept making graceful white doves magically appear. That day, Melissa wouldn't let her mom leave before signing her up to become a member of the Society of Young Magicians, Bill Andrews Assembly #42. (Graham has since become not only a good friend, but also a mentor).
Melissa's unique act has taken her to many places, most recently Buffalo, New York where she was the opening act for the "Stars of Tomorrow Show." It's an annual highlight at the National Convention for the Society of American Magician's. Seven kids from across the world are chosen to perform. Melissa was the only girl and was extremely proud to represent the next generation of female magicians. She is currently contracted to perform at magic conventions across the country.
Many people wonder why they should hire Melissa to entertain at their party or special event. Some people are hesitant to hire a pre-teen. What makes Magic By Melissa so unique is that she is "unforgettable." Kids love watching another "kid" make birds disappear, bunnies appear or life-size creations out of tiny, colorful pieces of latex. She "connects" with her audience, especially the children and parents are not only delighted by watching Melissa perform, but they're always saying how "inspired" they are by her and her story. They can't believe what she's accomplished in just one year. Melissa is very thankful to so many people helping her on this magical journey, and especially to her teacher, Dave Reid, for working so diligently on her acts and for sharing his gift and knowledge with her.
